How we can help
We will visit you in your home and help you decide on necessary repairs & improvements. We can offer advice & assistance or act on your behalf by:
- Organising surveys and drawings
- Helping you to find suitable contractors & obtaining prices for the work
- Applying for grants towards the cost of the work & helping you complete the paperwork
- Organising the works & providing you with advice & support throughout the works
- Signposting you to other sources of help, if needed.
Repairs and Improvements
Care & Repair can advise and assist with the repair or improvement of your home for:
- Structural instability
- Dampness
- Rot/structural infestation
- Defective electrical supply
- Lack of thermal insulation
- Inadequate foul/surface drainage
- Inadequate water supply
- Lack of toilet/basin, bath/shower
- Inadequate light/ventilation.
Your property will be assessed by a Grants Officer from the Highland Council and their recommendations will form the basis of the package of works we can offer you.
Major Adaptations
Care & Repair can help with adaptations to your home to suit your needs:
- Works to improve safety and access inside or outside the building
- Works to improve personal care or health needs.
Your needs will be assessed by Health and Social Care staff and their recommendations will form the basis of the package of works we can offer to you.
Telecare
Telecare is an alarm system that ensures you get the help you need in case of an emergency at home, like a fall. It helps keep you safe and independent at home for longer. Telecare also provides you and your family reassurance and peace of mind.
