Scottish Housing Regulator are recruiting

Scottish Ministers are recruiting a Chair and a new memebr to the Scottish Housing Regulator Board.

George Walker, Chair of the Scottish Housing Regulator said: “This is an excellent opportunity to join our team to help safeguard and promote the interests of tenants and service users, especially during these particularly challenging times in social housing. We are working with Scottish Ministers to recruit a new Chair and a new Board member as I and other colleagues come to the end of our appointment terms.

The Scottish Housing Regulator is led by a Board of non-executives members appointed by Scottish Ministers. The Board sets the Regulator’s strategic direction and has responsibility for governance and oversight of SHR.

The Scottish Housing Regulator was established on 1 April 2011 under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010. Its objective is to safeguard and promote the interests of tenants and others who use local authority and RSL housing services. The Regulator operates independently of Scottish Ministers and is accountable directly to the Scottish Parliament. It assumed its full regulatory responsibilities on 1 April 2012.
